Stone Surface Protection Film
StoneGuard® is a 5 mils thick,ultra clear polyethylene film that has an acrylic adhesive basin. On the surface of StoneGuard® is our ShieldX™ Nano coating that has high heat, and chemical tolerance to protect the underlying stone. Acidic compounds from food (such as lime, coffee, wine, orange, turmeric, vinegar, and tomato), and commonly used household cleaners can easily etch into your precious stone islands, and countertops.
Unlike other imitation products claiming to be made for stone, StoneGuard® is the World's First and Only protective film to attain a Full Patent for the Technology and use for Marble, and Stone Surfaces.
StoneGuard's unique composition achieves exceptional heat resistance, which when installed onto stone surfaces, can sustain temperatures up to 350°F (the typical boiling pot of hot water is approximately 200°F at its exterior base). Even at up to 320°F, acidic food items, and chemicals have difficulty staining and etching into the film itself.
StoneGuard® has a unique optically clear adhesive system that is designed to properly adhere to the porous surfaces of stone countertops, islands, and desks.
Coasters, placemats, vinyl laminates, and PVC liners are alternatives for protecting surfaces from etching and damage. However, these temporary surface protective solutions are visible and obtrusive.
Manufacturers for marble, quartz, limestone, Icestone, and other precious exotic stones for your kitchen and bathrooms universally recommend the use of a high grade sealer once every 12 months to protect the stones from the elements of daily use. However, the sealers on the market are only designed to protect from chemical etching. Once StoneGuard® is installed, your islands and countertops will be protected from acidic etching, chemical etching, staining, scratches, and dings. And the best part? You will no longer need to use sealers once StoneGuard® is installed.
Etch and Stain-Proof
StoneGuard®'s ShieldX™ Nano technology makes it virtually impossible to stain or etch from common household liquids (i.e wine, tumeric, lime, lemon, etc.). StoneGuard® is liquid impermeable which provides ultimate protection for the underlying stone. StoneGuard® is also Gas Permeable which allows the stone to breath and outgas naturally. Other imitation products can only make this claim, but in reality will seal the stone's pores, risking damage and oxidation.
Heat Resistant
In lab testing, StoneGuard® have been tested to resist temperatures of up to 350° Fahrenheit. Although we do not recommend it, hot pots and pans can be placed onto StoneGuard® without heat damage to the film or stone.
Gloss and Satin (Honed) Finishes
StoneGuard® is available in two different finishes. Both options will help enhance the details and look of the stone. StoneGuard® Gloss is made for Polished stones. StoneGuard® Satin is made for honed stone.
How is this different from the sealants and waxes on the market?
Stone waxes and sealants are a form of liquid chemicals that requires reapplication every 6 months. In addition, they provide minimal protection from acidic liquids. StoneGuard® is a 5 mils thick clear film with an adhesive base. StoneGuard® will protect the stone from scratches, dings, staining, etching, and burn marks from excessive heat.
How do I maintain StoneGuard®?
The process is quite simple. Use warm water and a microfiber towel to clean.
What chemicals can StoneGuard® protect my counter surface from?
White vinegar, Tumeric, coffee, citrus extract, vinegar, bleach, red wine, and a host of chemicals and organic liquids (including lime and lemon) commonly found in the kitchen. The nano-particals of StoneGuard® immediately converges to create a non-pourous surface that prevents these chemicals from etching onto the surface of the stone.
Will the film get damaged over time?
StoneGuard® is a sacrificial product that will see natural wear and tear over time.
Is StoneGuard® permanent?
StoneGuard® is not permanent and can be removed.
